Let’s be honest, James’ encouragement might come across as harsh, especially if you find yourself in a less than “joyful” place because of a tough personal situation, financial hardships, a bad medical diagnoses, etc. You might even feel insulted because you’re just trying to figure out how to pay the mortgage, keep the electricity on, or feed your family. Asking you to be joyful in the midst of your life feels like asking you to run a triatholon when you’re just trying to tread water.
HOME Groups

God created us to live in community: to gather together, to be cared for and challenge one another- to discover how God is calling each of us into a deeper relationship with Him, each other and the world. For many of us, trying to understand this three-fold relationship can be problematic. Although we are in the large congregation on Sunday and receive God’s word we sometimes neglect developing close relationships.
HOME Groups offer a safe place to connect with other believers in fellowship. Our purpose is simple- to grow in our understanding of God and our role in His plan for our life whether it is by ministering to others, becoming equipped to share Christ’s message or developing a lifestyle that worships God. It is our firm belief that life change happens best in community. We believe that when people gather in groups with a shared mission to pursue God, to love one another, and to serve others- God tends to show up and do amazing things!
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.'” Matthew 22:37-39
We believe that in order to carry out the Great Commandment we must be committed in five areas:
- Committed to Discipleship
- Committed to Spiritual Worship
- Committed to Community
- Committed to Serve
- Committed to Intentional Outreach

We are people-driven church, not program driven. Ministries exist to meet the spiritual, emotional, physical, psychological needs of people. But, they also provide opportunities for members to grow in maturity in Christ through giving to others. GCCC ministries provide opportunities for you to serve others and actively pursue fulfilling God’s purposes for your life.
Wednesday Night Study
Granite Creek offers ongoing Bible study every Wednesday night, following dinner and a time of worship and fellowship. Children's programs are available for kids nursery age through high school.

KIDCARE INTERNATIONAL

KidCare International is a humanitarian relief and mission's organization founded by our pastor, Larry Kapchinsky. KidCare provides food and clothing to disadvantaged children and their families around the world. In addition to its humanitarian efforts, KidCare is actively involved in planting churches in Russia and supports pastors and their efforts to serve the poor in Africa, India, Haiti, Mexico, Romania, and Albania. KidCare ships ocean freight containers filled with relief goods, and believes in taking the "hands on" approach to insure that the needy families are benefited. Teams regularly travel to Russia and Africa and representatives have been sent to Yugoslavia and Kosovo (during the war), as well as Colombia.
About EMPOWER SRI LANKA! We are an organization that is driven to make an impact in the world by reaching out to those who are less fortunate from all walks of life. We have partnered with many across the globe, including Africa, Russia and Sri Lanka. This cause aims at making a difference in Sri Lanka! Sri Lanka is newly free country of a 30 yr old civil war which tore down the very fabric of their lives to point close to no return. Now with a unified country, they are looking at reconstruction...picking up the pieces as best they can. It is our goal to stand beside them and help them as best we can by providing a helping hand, financial aid, food, educational material, building toilets or wells, etc. We will most of all strive to bring the Gospel message and provide a hope that is most needed! Sri Lanka is a beautiful nation with very beautiful people. It is this organizations goal to help assure an even more beautiful future!
The Men's Ministries
Mission Statement- To prepare today’s men to lead Godly lives, being fully alive and equipped with the armor of God’s word. To encourage men, in their relationships at home, work, community, and church.

Equipping Men
Fierce challenges face men of God in today’s world. To prepare them for the fight, Men’s ministry at GCCC is committed to equipping their men to be salt and light in their families and communities.
The Huddle
Feeling alone in your walk or under-equipped as the man God called you to be? Our monthly Huddles are a call to men to join the fight for authentic Christian manhood. We gather to fellowship as a band of brothers, discuss our biblical battle plan, and receive exhortation, accountability and prayer.
The monthly Huddle consist of men who are equipped and armed, guys who are intentional about loving and living out passionate lives – the kind that is possible only under God’s empowerment. Join us the fourth Saturday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

At Granite Creek, kids are a priority. One of our values is to see kids grow up to become everything God created them to be as they develop a personal faith and relationship with Christ in a safe and loving environment.

Our nursery serves infants through non-potty trained 2 year old and is located on the first floor.

Children's Ministries K-6th meets upstairs both 9:30 and 11:00. We also offer "special needs" classes or buddies.
Mission Statement:
Partnering with parents in providing experiences that will meet their child's mental, emotional and spiritual needs so that their children will become fully devoted followers of Christ.
All of our Children's Workers have been screened through a seven point security process which includes: the Dept. of Justice, the DMV and a background check. Our curriculum (from 2 year olds - 5th grade) is interactive and includes a variety of components to accommodate various learning styles. We present the Gospel in age-appropriate ways. We are firm believers that while the method of communicating the Gospel can -and does change, the message of God's love and plan of salvation does not. Our schedule includes worship, large group meeting (main lesson) and small group (life application and relationship building).
Nursery:
Our nursery serves infants through non-potty trained 2 year olds and is located on the first floor.
The nursery policies are stringent in regard to cleanliness, safety and care and are strictly adhered to and monitored. We maintain a ratio of 1 caregiver to every 3 children. When a baby is checked in, the parent will be given a numbered four part tagging system. One of the parts will have the child's name and parent info and is attached to the child's back, two others will be used for identifying the diaper bag and bottle/cup and the fourth part stays with the parent. The child will only be given to the person with the corresponding numbered tag. If your child has allergies or special needs, we ask that you notify the nursery staff so that we may be sure to meet your baby's needs.
Preschool:
The Preschool Dept. serves potty trained 2 year olds through Pre- Kindergarten and is located on the first floor. We ask that the children not bring toys, bottles or cups from home. If your child has a security blanket or animal, be sure to label it with your child's name. Children must be checked in and out by a parent. Please fill out a family info card on your first visit.
Elementary:
Our Elementary Dept. serves children from Kindergarten through 5th grade and is located on the second floor. Children must be checked in by a parent. We encourage parents to pick their child up after service; however, if a parent provides written permission, children 3rd grade and older will be released at the end of the service (day light hours only)

Granite Creek Community Church wants all who attend to have an opportunity to be included in services and classes, despite disabilities.
During the service, at 11 a.m., Children's Ministries will provide a welcoming classroom environment or a "buddy" to assist a child with "special needs" so that he or she can enjoy worshiping, learning the Word of God, and THRIVE with their peers.

CYAG- College and Young Adult Group
Mission Statement
CYAG provides a place for college-aged students and young adults, striving to make sense of their lives, aspirations, and relationships through the lens of a Christ-centered faith.
CYAG is designed for college-aged folks and young adults who desire a community that walks together in divining the meaning of life, exploring what we're going to be when we grow up, and figuring out the logistics of terpersonal relationships, all through the filter of being a Christ follower. The following Q&A provides some basic information about the group. But don't just read about the group, come check it out.
Q: I'm afraid of commitment and want to keep my options open. What's the deal with this group?
A: That's understandable. Options are good. CYAG will run an initial six weeks, meeting every Sunday evening at 7-9 p.m. in the upstairs lounge. At the end of six weeks, we will evaluate as a group if we want to keep things moving for another couple of weeks. If you miss a Sunday evening because of homework, work, family obligations, sheer exhaustion, or whatever no one will be calling your home asking for a doctor's note. We just want you to come and study the Bible with us and share in the fellowship.
Q: I've been to Bible studies before and felt like i was back in Sunday school. What makes this different?
A:YOU! You are the critical ingredient. Sure, you can stand on the sidelines and dismiss this as another Bible study group. Or, you can come and add some spice and infuse your personality into the group.
Q: So, what exactly will we be studying?
A: The Old Testament! I hope I didn't just conjure up ideas of flannel boards, and make you roll your eyes. In actuality, the Old Testament is filled with far more "grittiness" than the New Testament: murder, incest, drunkenness, slaughter, nakedness, and betrayal. But, it's also filled with accounts of a God who walks amoung His people and restores what the locusts have eaten. A small sampling of other topics on the docket: dating, managing money, figuring out who you are, and self-perception/beauty issues.
We're gonna kick-off our study with looking at the Fall and examine issues such as shame, nakedness, blame shifting, and God's grace. No flannel boards, I promise.
